Building for the future – how to use maturity assessment outputs

Imagine opening a brand-new LEGO set… say hello to a big pile of different size and color pieces; a visually noisy jumble you can’t quite see changing into an actual shape, with meaning and purpose – in short: chaos in a box.

But the set comes with a manual and that’s how you’re guided from individual building blocks to a coherent assembly. The beauty of LEGO is that every piece has a purpose; each block is essential to building the final structure. And here’s the added perk: the manual also guides you to a full range of possibilities, once you build one model, you can add to it to get a better, upgraded result or you can take it apart and create something entirely new.

You might find it an unusual comparison, but this is what a maturity assessment does: it identifies and analyses the essential components of the business, outlines its current maturity level and offers an actionable roadmap for improvement. Effective maturity assessments should lay the groundwork for future growth by equipping organizations with the knowledge and insights needed to make informed decisions.

But no matter how useful assessment data is, it serves no real purpose if it fails to clearly transmit its findings. This is why we, at the GPA Unit, pay particular attention to our report generation process, ensuring that stakeholders can grasp complex information easily.

Starting point?

•  data collection & analysis: it all begins with an extensive collection of data (internal documents); we leverage both qualitative and quantitative data sources to make sure we have a holistic view of your organization's performance. This phase involves in-depth interviews, surveys, and the evaluation of existing documentation. Our expert auditors analyze this data to provide a comprehensive & objective assessment by allocating scores and observations based on pre-established criteria.

•  insights aggregations: once we have compiled the necessary data from the 3 data collection sources (evidence-based, perception-based and interview-based assessments), we move to the synthesis phase. We employ rigorous analysis techniques to identify gaps and opportunities within your current processes. This stage is crucial as it sets the foundation for the outputs that will be produced.

Next step? Assessment Report Generation

A first draft of the maturity assessment is generated after all findings are consolidated and recommendations inserted. The draft is then shared with the client organization and feedback is offered.

Final Outputs: Key Components

The final assessment report is provided along with:

•  an executive dashboard: offering a visual representation of scores and maturity level obtained by the organization.

•  a roadmap for continuous improvement infographic: prioritizing the recommendations to progress from the current maturity level to the next, ultimately achieving the highest level (Optimized).

•  a roadmap for continuous improvement report: in addition to prioritized recommendations, we provide the organizations with a comprehensive report detailing how each recommendation can be implemented and the benefits of doing so.

Recognition of Maturity Levels

We believe that recognizing achievements is essential and have dedicated a distinct phase of the entire process to offering Certificates of Recognition to organizations upon achieving specific maturity levels during the maturity assessment. These certificates serve as tangible evidence of your commitment to excellence and help boost credibility and reputation in the marketplace.

So, do you see? – it does resemble LEGO: each ‘’piece’’, each step, and each decision you make gets you closer to creating a cohesive, adaptable business.

And, just like building a LEGO eye-catcher takes time, patience, and a little bit of imagination, so does transforming your organization. We’re here to help at every step of the way, providing you with the tools and insights you need to build for the future.
