How to Get Nominated to the Performance Excellence Awards Gala

Awarding Process

01.

Submit Inquiry for the Maturity Assessment

Contact the GPA Unit team to express your interest in conducting a maturity assessment for your strategy and performance management capabilities. Following your inquiry, our experts will guide you in selecting the most relevant service for your organization. A service proposal will then be submitted and presented for your review.

02.

Identify the Right Service

The organization will decide on the most suitable course of action to begin the improvement journey and pursue the opportunity to be nominated for the GPA Unit Awards. Organizations can choose from two potential pathways presented in the next step.

Note: SelfCheck, Quickscan and Diagnose services do not qualify for the Performance Excellence Awards.

03.

Choose the Deployment Option

The organization will decide the most suitable course of action to begin the improvement journey and pursue the opportunity to be nominated for the GPA Unit Awards. Organizations can choose from two potential pathways presented in the next step.

Note: Self-assessments and diagnosis scan results do not qualify for the Performance Excellence Awards.

04.

Undertake the Maturity Assessment

Path 1: Recognized

  1. 1. Proceed directly with the Recognized Maturity Assessment.
  2. 2. If the initial results do not qualify for the Awards, implement the recommendations and undergo a Quick Reassessment (within 6 months) or a Standard Reassessment (after 6 months) ahead of the Awards Gala.

Assessments must be completed before the Gala to qualify for that year's cycle; otherwise, eligibility transfers to the next edition.

Recommended for: Organizations with established performance management systems that seek independent validation, external recognition, and targeted refinement rather than fundamental change.

Path 2: Diagnose -> Recognized

  1. 1. Conduct a Diagnose Assessment to determine the current maturity level, highlight critical gaps, and obtain a general roadmap for improvement.
  2. 2. Implement the recommended improvements to advance organizational practices.
  3. 3. Conduct the Recognized Maturity Assessment to generate a detailed report and become eligible for the Performance Excellence Awards.

Recommended for: Organizations anticipating significant gaps and needing time to strengthen frameworks, tools, processes, and practices before formal validation.

Path 3: QuickScan -> Recognized

  1. 1. Conduct a QuickScan Assessment to establish a comprehensive internal baseline using the Integrated Performance Management framework.
  2. 2. Use the QuickScan findings to prioritize and refine internal frameworks, processes, procedures, and documentation for formal validation.
  3. 3. Conduct the Recognized Maturity Assessment to generate a detailed report and become eligible for the Performance Excellence Awards.

Recommended for: Organizations with sufficient internal capacity to apply the GPA Unit Maturity Frameworks independently, build a reliable baseline, and prepare for external assessment.

Note As an initial step, organizations may complete the SelfCheck High-Level or In-depth Assessment to obtain an overview of their current maturity level. These free tools provide key stakeholders with an accessible way to understand the organization’s stage of development and maturity in relation to its performance frameworks, tools, and practices, and to determine which assessment pathway best fits their objectives and level of readiness.

05.

Receive the Official Nomination

Our experts analyze the data to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

06.

Data Collection

Each year, the GPA Unit reviews the results of all assessments conducted within the twelve months preceding the Awards Gala. Organizations meeting the eligibility criteria will receive an official nomination and an invitation to the event. Award categories correspond to the capabilities evaluated in the maturity assessment. Nominees must confirm acceptance and attendance within two weeks of notification.

Eligibility criteria: * Organizations assessed through an Recognized Maturity Assessment by GPA Unit Accredited Assessors qualify if their results reach Maturity Level IV or V. * The Awards Gala is an annual event, and it will consider organizations assessed in the last 12 months from the event.

07.

Share Your Achievement

Awarded organizations are encouraged to communicate their achievement publicly - through press releases, social media, and other internal and external channels - affirming their continued commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Integrated Performance

When strategies, processes, and people work in complete harmony, performance becomes more than the sum of its parts. This award honors the organizations that have achieved that full integration.
