Purpose
Our story is one of transformation—both our own and that of the organizations we serve. We exist to raise the global standard of performance excellence by certifying maturity, sharing knowledge, and nurturing a community that learns and evolves together. Guided by evidence, integrity, and innovation, the GPA Unit continues its mission to turn performance management from a technical process into a culture of clarity, alignment, and continuous improvement.
Our quest for excellence
The Global Performance Audit Unit (GPA Unit) emerged as a shared vision of our founders about the importance of integrated performance management and the need for a reliable system diagnostic tool. What began in 2009 as an academic exploration of maturity models evolved into a professional practice dedicated to helping organizations understand where they stand and how they can grow. By transforming research into practical frameworks, the GPA Unit is a trusted partner for institutions striving to bridge the gap between strategic intent and measurable results.
"Ultimately, we hope to “put a dent in the universe,” at least within the field of strategy and performance management maturity assessment field by creating something that did not exist before: a structured roadmap for organizations to understand where they stand and what they need to do for continuous improvement and achieving performance excellence". Evolution
From its early foundations within The KPI Institute, the GPA Unit has grown into an independent global authority on performance excellence. Over more than fifteen years, the organization expanded from conducting individual assessments to building an integrated ecosystem structured around ten interconnected pillars: assessments, standards, training, research, certification, awards, events, insights, and a global network of accredited professionals. Each pillar reinforces the others, creating a living system designed to sustain organizational growth and maturity worldwide.
